Our Neighborhood

The Prestonwood East neighborhood encompasses approximately 15 tree-lined streets of beautiful Far North Dallas. We are located within close walking distance to many schools, grocery stores, workout facilities, and shopping centers. We are surrounded by Richardson, Plano, Addison, and Dallas and all the amenities accessible within these cities. Everything is closely and conveniently located!

Schools

The local public elementary school, James Bowie Elementary (in the Richardson Independent School District) is an exemplary-rated school serving K-6^th grade students. Bowie is within close walking distance to our neighborhood; many residents can see the school grounds from their house!

For secondary public school students, our neighborhood children can choose from between two stellar Richardson ISD junior high schools. Parkhill Junior High, located to our west, has achieved many high ratings for academics and provides its students with a variety of opportunities to shine. Westwood Junior High, located just to our southeast, also has many high academic achievements. Westwood is a Math, Science, and Leadership Magnet school in Richardson ISD, also giving multiple and varied opportunities for students to reach their goals.

As for 9^th through 12^th grades, our students can choose from between two different high schools. JJ Pearce High School, located just a short walk east from our neighborhood, is a popular choice, with its soaring academic opportunities and strong athletic accomplishments. Richardson High School is another option for those desiring educational magnet alternatives. RHS has 9 interesting magnet programs and provides many pathways to success.

Libraries

Our neighborhood also has a few libraries nearby. They are: Richardson Public Library located on Arapaho Road & Hwy 75, the Renner Frankford Branch of the Dallas Library located just east of Preston Road on Frankford Road, and the Fretz Branch of the Dallas Library at Hillcrest and Beltline.

Recreation Centers

Many of our neighbors enjoy activities at a Dallas Recreation Center close to home. There are two in close proximity. Campbell Green Rec Center, located at Campbell & Hillcrest, and Fretz Rec Center, located at Beltline & Hillcrest (next to Fretz Library). And if you prefer YMCA facilities, there’s the Richardson Family YMCA located across the street from the Richardson Public Library.

Senior Center

The Richardson Senior Center is another nearby option for fun, exciting activities for those in our community 55 years of age or older. The center is located near the intersection of Arapaho Road and Floyd in Richardson.
